Founder & Chairman
Trevor Pearlman is the Founder and Chairman of Tregan Energy Partners. Mr. Pearlman has developed, financed and led Tregan’s investment in mineral and royalty interests spanning 100+ acquisitions over the past several years. Prior to his focus on mineral rights, Mr. Pearlman was a prolific real estate investor who purchased and developed residential and commercial properties throughout the United States. Mr. Pearlman previously founded Edge Group, which, in partnership with Starwood Hotels & Resorts developed, entitled and designed a sixty-acre mixed used development site just outside of the Las Vegas Strip. Mr. Pearlman sold his interest in the project in mid-2007 just prior to the commencement of construction as he noted the bubble-like conditions in Las Vegas and elsewhere in the U.S. Prior to his work in real estate, Mr. Pearlman co-founded wireless cell phone tower company Alamosa Holdings, which at its peak provided wireless communication services to over 12 million subscribers in the U.S. Alamosa was taken public in 2000 and was then sold to Sprint for $3.5B in 2005. Prior to founding Alamosa, Mr. Pearlman, along with partner Reagan Silber, co-founded law firm Silber Pearlman, LLP, which they sold in 2000. Following the sale, Mr. Pearlman and Mr. Silber co-founded family office Tregan Partners, which would facilitate many of their investments. Mr. Pearlman earned his JD from Southern Methodist University (SMU) where he was elected student body President and earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin where he was elected student body Vice President.
Chief Executive Officer
Elliot Karathanasis is the CEO of Tregan Energy Partners. Mr. Karathanasis previously worked with Commonwealth Opportunity Capital, a global macro hedge fund that traded oil and natural gas and focused on currencies, commodities and credit. Mr. Karathanasis also previously served as a partner at SPK Capital LLC, a Los Angeles-based private equity firm, and has nearly 20 years of experience starting, operating and selling businesses at various stages of their growth cycle. Prior to SPK, Mr. Karathanasis served as the President of Ground Break LLC, a real estate development firm he founded in 2006, with offices in New York, Los Angeles, Austin and Las Vegas. Mr. Karathanasis oversaw all aspects of the company’s corporate strategy and operations. Prior to forming Ground Break, Mr. Karathanasis was a Partner in Edge Group, a development, gaming and management company that partnered with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide to develop real estate. Mr. Karathanasis graduated from NYU Law School in 1997 and worked as a corporate attorney in New York with Cravath, Swaine & Moore and then as the General Counsel of a division of Pfizer. Mr. Karathanasis holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Binghamton University.
Reid Stein, CFA
Vice President, Director of Finance
Reid Stein, CFA is the Director of Finance at Tregan Energy Partners. Mr. Stein has served as the managing partner of Malabar Capital Management, LLC since November 2012. Mr. Stein has previously worked in financial markets for Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and hedge fund Durban Capital and as a mergers & acquisitions analyst at Rothschild, Inc. Mr. Stein has also worked as a presidential campaign advisor and at a middle east focused foreign policy think tank. Mr. Stein received his MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania where he concentrated in Finance and International Economics with an emphasis on financial markets history. Mr. Stein received his Bachelor of Arts, Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in diplomatic history and minored in political science. Mr. Stein has obtained his Series 3, Series 7, Series 55 and Series 63 licenses and is a CFA charterholder.
Director of Engineering & Underwriting
Kevin Clegg is the Director of Engineering and Underwriting of Tregan Energy Partners. Mr. Clegg previously worked for Chevron North America in construction, commissioning, and start-up engineering roles on a $6B project within the company’s Deepwater Gulf of Mexico business unit. In addition, he managed the project’s Drilling and Completions interface and spent over two years working rotationally offshore. Mr. Clegg received a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and Bachelor of Arts in Plan II from the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with high honors and earning induction to the Phi Beta Kappa society. While attending the University of Texas, Mr. Clegg authored a thesis on the 21st Century Energy Transition and received Engineering, Presidential, and National Merit scholarships.
Director of Acquisitions
Zach Solomon is the Director of Acquisitions and Business Development at Tregan Energy Partners. Mr. Solomon spent the previous two years working with Tregan Partners building and managing a portfolio of oil and gas assets. Prior to Tregan, Mr. Solomon was a Business Development Manager at EquityMetrix, a Dallas-based oil and gas consulting group, where he developed and implemented various programs aimed at assisting mineral and royalty clients. Mr. Solomon received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Resource Management from the University of Texas at Austin while part of the Plan I Liberal Arts Honor Program. Additionally, Mr. Solomon spent time in Iceland studying geothermal and hydroelectric energy and renewable resource economics.
Christopher Ponners is the Reservoir Engineer of Tregan Energy Partners. Mr. Ponners previously worked at Apache Corporation and Netherland, Sewell & Associates where he performed extensive reservoir modeling, fracture characterization, and directional drilling optimization. Additionally, he has conducted production forecasting, reserves evaluations, and economic analyses in a majority of U.S. oil & gas basins. Mr. Ponners received a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, graduating with Highest Honors and a certificate in Computational Science in Engineering. While at the University of Texas, Mr. Ponners authored a thesis on his research in Enhanced Oil Recovery technologies and spent time in the Netherlands studying petroleum geology.
Director of Business Development
Ryan Pearlman is the Director of Business Development at Tregan Energy Partners. Mr. Pearlman previously worked for two years in the commercial real estate industry where he assisted senior management in $80 mm of commercial real estate acquisitions and represented both tenants and property owners in various deals. Having started his first business at age 15, Ryan is a self-starter who has significant experience developing and implementing business strategies. Mr. Pearlman received his Bachelor of Arts in Urban Development from the University of Texas at Austin with a concentration in Real Estate.
Amber Coakley is the Controller of Tregan Energy Partners. Ms. Coakley previously founded Coakley SBS, a Plano, TX based business services firm that provided accounting and business process engineering services to private and public businesses in a variety of industries. While at Coakley SBS, Ms. Coakley designed accounting databases and was responsible for the firm’s operations, marketing and accounting services. Prior to founding Coakley SBS, Ms. Coakley served as Controller and Data Architect for the Law Offices of Reagan Silber and Trevor Pearlman and for the Dallas law firm Baron & Budd, P.C.
Division Order Analyst
Mallory Burt-Bocksell is the Division Order Analyst of Tregan Energy Partners. Mrs. Burt-Bocksell previously worked as a Head Bookkeeper and Law Firm Administrator. With over ten years of experience in project management and a background in accounting, Mrs. Burt-Bocksell will focus on land title and contract analysis and any other duties pertaining to each Division Order and its application. Currently, she is working to become certified through Midland College’s Division Order Certificate Program sponsored by NADOA (National Association of Division Order Analysts).
Senior Staff Accountant
Natalie Fenstermacher is an accountant at Tregan Energy Partners. Ms. Fenstermacher previously worked as an accountant at Coakley SBS in Plano, TX where her clients included restaurants, law firms and other small businesses. Prior to working at Coakley SBS, Ms. Fenstermacher worked as an accountant at Clear Channel Radio, at health insurance company AmeriBen and at AIA Insurance. Ms. Fenstermacher earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Portland State University.
Jodie Elgin is an accountant at Tregan Energy Partners. Ms. Elgin is a former senior accountant at Ernst & Young Thailand and has also worked as an accountant at Coakley SBS, based in Plano, TX. Ms. Elgin earned her Bachelor of Accounting degree from Thailand’s Srinakharinwirot University.
